Is that his first 6 games in like 9 months since high school?

Yeah people will bring up fg℅ but I don't think those numbers reflect his true ability when he's playing himself into shape. Teams will have better perspective and foresight. I'm curious to where he goes but I know he's under rich Paul and money is less important than situation.

fukk no we shouldn’t. And I really don’t want to call him out of his name but Gil is kind of a doofus. And the worst kind because he genuinely thinks he smarter than what he actually is.

Speak for your self..I want him on the wiz :youngsabo:

The other downside to having Arenas kid on your team

Saw someone said he gotta report to the team that drafted him, in Puerto Rico :mjlol:

Just checked, he was the first pick and the season starts March 21st lol

hes only a freshman coming off a knee injury, i seriously hope his father isnt pushing for him to enter the draft when you can comeback for two more years and get that nil money.

I don't think they care about the money vs getting him into a good situation early competing against talent. He didn't have him play a year earlier just to stay in college. For what? I very much believe he'll get some guaranteed situation with someone with patience. A place they believe he can grow. Wizards got like three or four late seconds. His father also was a second rounder so I don't think they will be discouraged by being picked anywhere in the draft. As long as he doesn't get buried.

I just believe they will do anything in their power for him to try to become great and that's worth something. He's not gonna coast. I'm not saying he's tier one talent but he doesn't have his game legs and hasn't played in nine months.

Been watching some SC games lately, I just don't see it. Maybe he needs another year after the injury idk, but athletically he aint ready for the league

What’s missing? He has the size and shot creation.

I get that Gil is their boy but Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson looked like some damn fools with this shyt

They in-laws married to sisters. Alijah their nephew also and hangs out with his sons.
.right now athletically is when I pause when it comes to him but him not playing has something to do with that according to Gil. I believe in him more than folks in this thread but if he suck in the NBA I'll take my L. Don't care what he does in college other than get his health and legs back. I believe Gil knows what he's doing when it comes to training Alijah. .

He's not going to be the best player. There's people tiers ahead of him.

Call a spade a spade. Currently he’s ass. Even when he has a good game, he looks like a circus act.

Athleticism, not saying he has to be ANT but how he pairs his game with his athleticism isn't cutting it in the league right now. But maybe he just needs another year to come back from the injury

We can say he has the size and skills all we want but obviously he not getting it done at a high level in college

Yeah, him reclassifying was purely to position himself for this year's draft. I'd be shocked if he comes back next year.

I really don’t understand the sense of urgency to get him to the league.

Seems like Melo is the only NBA father that I’ve heard that has the right mindset.

Gil has a low opinion of college and probably thinks Alijah's game is more suited for pro ball. Then there's the obvious incentive of starting your second contract earlier.

I understand Gil’s logic

However, the car wreck and injury, it’s best to be cautious. That’s what I’m referring to. I would not let my son play until the next year.

Additionally, the whole “let’s get him in the league and we’ll figure it out” process is silly to me when you can try to go high in the draft the following year.

Gil claims owners care about age more than anything, younger you get drafted, the more years of extra value you have just based on that + potential
