Ya boy who finished college with a 2.6 and a degree in marketing from some random state school is NOT the same as the man who finished who finished with a 3.8 and a degree in finance/Econ or accounting from a top university :pachaha:

Somebody who finishes top of their class from HYS law school will 100% have better prospects than somebody who graduated middle of their class from some random law school in the Midwest. :pachaha:
As long as a nicca got a job though.......:manny:

This part is true.
I see that narrative a lot on here, brehs will be like "college is a scam, I know this because my friend took out 65k to go to Devry for Communications, and when he graduated he couldn't find a job. Now he works at Wal-Mart. Don't go to college brehs."

Well... college is a scam though. :ld:

Just happens to be necessary for most sought after positions:yeshrug:

This for the brehs on here who say "don't go to college, then tell a story about one of their boys with a degree in communications who can't find a job :yeshrug:

Common sense ain't Coli sense
A lot of it has to do with the environment too. By that i mean the environment in this country and how peopel view college.

If i may offer a "foreigner's" perspective:
Here in the united states everyone can go to college and college is viewed as an "experience". People talk about it;s not just going to school but it's enjoying the "college experience blah blah blah". You have all kinds of grants and aid and scholarships and financial aid available.
WHereas in smaller countries (for example) you go to college to learn a trade/profession, period. Noone gives a fukk about your "college experience". With your parent footing every penny of the bill you better not be fukking around with all the hard earned money they are investing in you.

I find that a lot of American kids go to college just because they are expected to but they dont really have a purpose there. I went to college and just got in, went to class, went home to study and that was it. I remember one of you out on here was bytching at me because i had never been to a "step shows" nor did i take part in the partying and other extra curricular activities like fraternities in college.
ANyway what ends up hapenning to these kids is that they are there and lack direction so they pick an easy major just to keep them preoccupied and next thing you know time goes by and they have so much time invested in this bullshyt major and they wind up graduating with that bullshyt major...into a field they dont really care for. With few good jib prospects.
Like i always says "how many fukkin psychology majors do you fukkin need, for Christ's sake?" :mindblown:

So then it becomes about "who do you know?" to hook you up with a good job

Couldn't have said it better myself.
I've said many times that I don't believe anyone should go to college until you know exactly what you are trying to get out of it.

Don't spend thousands of dollars to figure that out, figure that out the day before you step foot on a university.
College is already a scam, don't play yourself by going there to have fun and "experience life"

Exactly!

I have a friend of mine.
  • SHe was in college and was wasting time and money.
  • Dropped out of college.
  • Worked for a few years and figured out what she wanted to do.
  • She then went back to college and graduated.
  • Opened her own business and was making 6 figures.
  • She then went to France to study for her Masters while still running her business from there.
  • Met a dude there and got married.
  • Came back and got her son and moved him to France with her.
She basically lives 9 months in France and about 2 months here and the rest she travels. I know whats not typical but sometimes you do need to hit the PAUSE button and figure out what you want first
