You assume everyone who thinks Black Americans should focus on our own issues first, are some sort of cult? What about every other group that has practiced that same sort of ideology in the US. Every other group that is also Black, and made it important that the system understood they were not Black American? Why is it only a problem when Black Americans start to agree with that sentiment, and then turn inward to actually focus on what we need to have to thrive?
BTW, many Black Americans who feel we should focus on our own issues, do not follow or even listen to TNasheed. In fact, most of them that I know of consider him what I consider him, a grifter. I am pretty sure that elder sister who voted the way she did is not some follower of his. She has parents that directly experienced Jim Crow, while she was born on the tail end of it. So her position is one informed from seeing what has happened over all of these years, and not based on the YTube videos of a man who makes money off of any issue he can.
