I remember feeling the same way even though I thought of myself as a reasonable 7ish to a 8, but somehow I was able to talk to women and actually have relationships. Its all in your personality to get attention from the opposite sex. Hell, I remember dudes in my high school looking like some shyt from Warcraft and still manage to bag the baddest of women.
I would say this to help boost your confidence. Hide the negatives and expose the positives. If you are considered funny, let that be your way into a woman's heart. Can carry conversation on the level of attraction, flap those goddamn gums. Can write the dopest of poetry, let it be known. Bottom line, hide the blight and show off the city within yourself. Eventually, you will find somebody or in some cases women that want to see everything including the blight.

Just make the best with what you've got and take care of yourself. I didn't think I was very handsome in high school, but then I blossomed at the end and was always into keeping myself fit. Got older and started developing my fashion, taking care of my skin and health.
That, in turn, helped build confidence and with experience, you realize that it's all attitude and posture. People sense that shyt and gravitate toward it.
As far as "attractiveness" or being handsome though, it's not what you think it is. The unfortunate truth is this: for every attractive woman you get that attention from, I guarantee that you hear it twice as much from males and women you don't want anything to do with.
