1. Suikoden 2 ... one of the GOAT villains, epic amount of characters to recruit, simple but fun gameplay mechanics and a great storyline. It's my favorite ever.
2. Earthbound... I was young when it dropped and there's still nothing comparable to it in the RPG world imo. LOVED this game.
3. Chrono Trigger...everyone knows why at this point in time
4. Final Fantasy Tactics... My GOAT strategy RPG just past Shining Force 2 and Ogre Tactics
5. Lunar Silver Story ...The cut scenes and story are among the most memorable for me. I'm an anime head so the animation really pulled me in.

I could hit like 20 honorable mentions to...I LOVE RPGs.

Lunar Silver Star Story was dope too....it was easy fukk but it was dope

and Final Fantasy Tactics is piff as well....even the portable spinoffs were fire :wow:

Too many to choose from. :mjcry:
Part of me wants to say Star Ocean 2, but then Super Mario Rpg is what brought me into loving Rpgs in the first place.
I want to say Final Fantasy Tactics since I have fond memories of staying up all night, drinking warm rum and playing this shyt...but then there's Tactics ogre which is arguably the better game. I wanna say Final Fantasy 8 since I've more than 1000 hours playing that glorious games and fukking up people in the Card game....but I've prolly got 5 times that in Morrowind, not counting the game of the year edition....:ohlawd:

.......Star Ocean 2, fukk it.:birdman: When I got Dias Flac, THAT, WAS, IT. I refused to let him go to waste like Magus did in Chrono Trigger for me 'cause I got him late and never bothered to level him up with the rest. Super Mario Rpg is a miniscule second.

a lot of yall sleepin on Saga Frontier too....even tho it wasn't as well received as most Squaresoft rpgs at the time it's pretty great

i like innovative shyt and it did a lot of shyt that wasn't seen before in the rpg genre

Loved that joint! Multiple perspectives and if I'm not mistaken you could figure out technique combos. The PSOne versions were great.

Another few that kinda get forgotten - Legend of Legaia (I was obsessed with the battle system) and Vandal Hearts (the newer PS3 one was weak but the first two were great games).

JRPG - Chrono Trigger. I played this late about 10 years ago and the fact that it held up to anything I played before or since is :wow:

WRPG - Fallout 3. I was in that world and even though it's not really deep gameplay wise I loved it.

but there's a bunch of games that are as good but that nostalgia bumps ff7 above em for me personally
