Lance does everything else better than DeRozan, more efficient, and would put up more points as a number one option. 04-05 was simply a year where he was fighting injuries. Don't punish Kobe for being tougher than most other players who woulda sat out the whole season. Kobe was injured the whole season. He was fighting plantar facitiatis. An injury that usually has most players missing months. Then he had the ankle injury against the Cavs. He came back quicker than most cause he's Kobe and he fights through injuries.

Once he got healthy, he took pretty much the same team to the playoffs the next two seasons averaging 35ppg and 32ppg.
