:obama:People gotta understand this. I submitted a fukked up resume to my last job, cause most places didn't care too much about the format so long
as the cover letter was good.

On the strength of my recommendation from a friend, not only did they call me in anyway, but the person who supervised my position redid my resume to submit
it to HR. I had NO business working there. Recommendations and friendly advice>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>all that other shyt. You get way more opportunities
when people like you. I have a job for life at this other place because the lady and I like each other. A middle aged Italian woman who is damn near like
a second mother to me, and we kept ties even when I stepped away for a while. Moment I lost my other job, she worked me back in without hesitation.

Hard work is good, but strong ties are better. They get you into the door, and often, give you more chances to grow:yeshrug:Fact of life. People need to
get their social skills up.

Colin Cowherd, yeah, that Colin, once said one of the most profound things I've ever heard on the subject of networking. Said most thoughts and decisions made about you would be made when you aren't in the room. Think about :to: for a minute. When he was unstoppable, people put up with his bullshyt. When age caught up to him, people couldn't wait to shyt on him. Be nice to people on the way up because if you aren't, that ride down will be hell. I help everyone at my job. It's not like I'm overextending myself but they know that if they need something, that I'm down for the cause. That is something that is tangible and you can put some faith and currency in.

I'm about to rich on my own i don't need nobody.:pacspit:

The first thing that you should do is embrace success, yours and others that you see. Through others, you can see what is possible. Everything will not be attainable but you can always improve your situation. I'm in competition with everyone, but I won't hate on someone that is getting it because it gives me hope, it gives me motivation to grind.

Exactly, I never said it wasn't effective. But I'm certain that if people didn't have to network they wouldn't. If they were judged on their skill and knowledge alone they would come in, do the work, and go home.

I disagree. Some people are social and naturally have the ability to network and enjoy politicking.

I look at it like this... You can't know everything and you don't know everything that you do not know. Networking and interactions with others provide the platform to learn and be exposed to the things you don't know you don't know.

And Op is dumb as shyt if he thinks networking is chatty Patty. Literally the dumbest shyt I've ever heard.

blacks are behind because we have a purposefully racist system that installs us all into poverty.

Art Barr

This is true. The system perpetuated white domination. However, to deny the avenue that's brings people together through a common goal is silly. Access is the reason why white people continue to sustain what they have. Access is provided through networking. Of course someone can squander resources, but having the initial opportunity can be brought about (in some cases) solely because of networking
