That's why blacks are behind especially among ourselves... we cut each other out and start networking with others cause we can't trust each other...

I seen so it much in L.A., that's why jews continue to run L.A.

I've tried to network and help out other Brothers. A lot of them are distrustful of their fellow Black Man but will cupcake to a CAC no problem.:rudy: They never stay in contact.

I want to do business with my people but they don't trust each other enough to get shyt poppin. On another note I never have problems with foreign Blacks not born in America.:dwillhuh:

I just want to distance myself as much as possible from this legacy. There is just no saving the vast majority of us at this point in time.:mjcry:

That's what im saying... I work as a business insurance agent and try to advise young brothers about insurance and they kind of push me off and go to a white guy cause they believe they have more knowledge than I do...

with closure rates lower than typical cold call sales.

Plus, I know in the internet age channel sales rep always failed and got bodied.

You aren't networking if you have to pretend. Networking is building genuine relationships with people who can put faith in you for the future.
you're right and you're also wrong

yes some is genuine... but a lot isn't.. when ceo's are meeting or you're trying to make a deal or even get info on a new client... you are going to have to front a little... you are gonna have to do some fake smiling.. some fake laughing.. some fake interested face

you might gain friends and develop genuine relationships.. but a lot more times, you'll be bullshytting your way into getting what you want FOR YOU.. same as the other guys

I'm good as hell at networking, I can talk to anyone. But it came with a lot of practice and overcoming insecurities. And I do agree that it can be exhausting, and most of the people you meet might just be some sales doofus that couldn't give 2 fukks about you. And maybe likewise.

But this is real shyt: it's not what you know in business, it is WHO you know. And if you shake 50 hands, all it takes is 1 real one and it can pay off for you.

Build up your rep, become known in certain circles...it can really pay off.

I was number one in sales for thirteen straight months as a beginner in the internet new media sales business.
at chicago's oldest and largest isp, for just starters.
the same company that first offered all the shyt you internet nikkaz hold dear.
from nt FrontPage extension in hosting to high speed dedicated access for small business/consumers.
when, aol was 19 a pop.
I had every large corporate account on lock and residential consumers paying 28.99 for dialup/pop account.
to being at tier one provider from dial up to fiber.
plus, I sold everything from boardroom to block.

you don't know how to stfu and listen.
that is why you suck at getting referrals.
