Yea I’m in LA
And San Diego, Mexican food is really good also. I haven’t had bad experiences when I been out there.

Yeah Texas is mainly known for its “Tex-Mex” and BBQ, imo.
The Mexican food is good because of how many Mexicans are out here, but it’s not better than the Mexican (or any) food I had out in SD. Damn near everywhere we went out there had great food.
But I have also not been to the border cities like El Paso, or even the fattest city in the U.S. that is McAllen. I hear the best things about those places are the food.

It's not specifically about the weed, it's about living somewhere that has one of many archaic and repressive laws in place that are primarily used to lock black people up at a disproportionately higher rate than everyone else. So yes, I made a life choice as a black man to not live in a backward place like that.

I see so many people walking lately because it’s not hot as fukk like it usually is 75% of the year. So I think that’s another reason a lot of people have cars to move around too.
A lot of swamp assing it if you don’t. Maybe yall cats in those cities don’t sweat as much up there but you will out here. You could probably cook an omelet in the sun if you wanted to

From the people I know and talk too a lot of it is also about job/career opportunities...Say what you want but Texas is huge with plenty of industry...My homie moved out to Houston from the DMV for a opportunity with a large defense contractor after getting laid off..Him and his fiance where both able to level up in a short time compared to if they stayed out east...I don't think they plan to stay long-term but overall folks gotta do what they gotta do sometimes...

I honestly believe from being out here the past couple of years, Texas politics is what fukks this state up the most.
And traffic/roads being designed horribly.
They might stay long term, Houston dope as hell. Down side is humidity and flood zones, other than that and a few other things its great city. There's a reason a lot of black millionaires live there, Houston is definitely top 4 in that aspect. A lot of people have a one sided thought in their head when they hear Texas but every major city in Texas is BLUE.

Small towns are 90% GOP and either entirely white or heavily Mexican (especially down by the border).
Texas has the largest raw number of Blacks, but we're only like 11 or 12% of the population...similar to America as a whole.
Legal Mexicans don't vote anywhere close to their population. The educated ones and the women go Democrat but the men tend to flip-flop.
The transplants from California, New York, Illinois etc., keep Texas red. The whites that move here....ESPECIALLY if they buy a big house in the burbs....that's the reason why Texas can't flip to Blue.
It's why Hot Wheels, Patrick and em love all the growth, corporate relos and transplants. True liberals ain't coming to Texas. It's people that would be considered far right in Manhattan or Chicago, but are just center-right in Texas.
Black folks are fine in Dallas and Houston. The issue is all the burbs and rural areas. Those fukkers will vote GOP even if Abbott shat watery stool in their mouth.

This is what I’ve heard and started to see too.
And a lot of them are Red just because… 3 decades of voting Republican because that’s what they grandpappy did all the way back to when the sides flipped. Democrats used to be the ones for slavery if I remember right, and once the slaves were free, a lot of the racist ones jumped to being Republican down south.
Edit: Definitely what @@IsThatBrothaMouzone? Is saying too. I haven’t been out here long enough to put my finger on it, but I haven’t received any racism like that out here tbh… yet.
But the cosplayers that come out here and get those expensive, lifted trucks and think they’re cowboys now.. I can see it

I remember interviewing for a job in college. It wasn't a gig I expected to get, but more just sharpening up my skills.
The hiring manager had a cowboy hat on and looked like a real good ol boy. Even had a slight twang. We started talking and I let him know my whole family was from deep northeast and southeast Texas....like not having running water or electricity until 1970, country.
This white boy was from Chicago and hadn't been in Texas more than 5 years.
. Something told me he was full of shyt, so I was testing him with random questions about football, food....his Yank came out quickly.
