Pretty much. Nobody's denying that manipulation and corruption happen but displacing these things into conspiracies, into secret societies, reptilians, aliens, etc, ultimately does very little to fight against the corruption and if anything, upholds it. People in power don't have anything to worry about if someone's out hunting Illuminatis.
