Pharell made a comeback this year. I'm curious to know, is he still working with Chad Hugo, or is Pharell working solo for all these new beats?

Real fans know that Chad is what adds the ACTUAL sauce.
Pharrell w/o chad is pretty mediocre about 60% of the time.

Pharrell's work with Chad was a collaborative effort, but anything that Chad brought to the table, Pharrell could pretty much do himself. There's an article with Robin Thicke that explains what Pharrell brings to the production of a song.

there would be no neptunes without chad.
i don think chad hugo likes the spotlight. he has only been in one music video i think. and when they do interviews he doesnt even talk

Pharrell has been solo for a couple of years now. The last batch of Neptunes anything was probably Clipse last album and the NERD "Nothing" album of course. Chad is still doing his music thing and Pharrell has been putting in TONS of work by himself (both Despicable Me soundtracks, starting up a new label, all the BBC Ice Cream shyt, etc.)

It was long thought that Pharrell only did the drums and it was Chad that came up with the chords and other arrangements.
