chad used to be the technical guy that brings the sounds all together. i thought he was the brain of it all but pharrell stepped his game up. pharrell's vision in songs is amazing.
the most important beat from them (imo), grindin', was all pharrell. chad hugo is nice for the little sound and technical sh1t.. but overtime pharrell learned it. he might not have the technical sh1t as good as chad, but has it good enough for the masses not to notice.

Chad didnt want to give up his ass crack for the fame so he let Pharell handle that.

True, Chad gave them that futuristic sound. BUT without Pharrell, Chad can't come up with those arrangement/ melodies

Over time, P just got his technical shyt (more) together and prolly figured that he could just do him. Yeah, he did all of the drums but he also wrote the damn lyrics to songs they produced for others, along with the vocal arrangement and melodies. There was a time when his piano skills where super basic but now he plays very well, which I'm sure is a big help when its time to bang out ideas.
what's chad hugo into these days? i gave his mssl cmmnd project a listen, shyt wasn't quite what i was used to
From what I've seen/gathered. Pharrell comes up with the ideas like the synths, melodies, and such, and Chad usually hammers them out and builds on them a little bit, maintains the structure and such. P handles the percussion, and does a good deal of songwriting. Chad is moreso the glue that sticks P's ideas to reality, but Chad also comes up with chords and such too.
what exactly has Chad Hugo done on his own since their breakup, to justify this opinion? Chad obviously had an important role, while they were a team, but to act like he was the true talent in the group is beyond exaggerating, and unfounded.
