Some of us have it easier than others when it comes to supporting black businesses since we live in predominantly black neighborhoods but you telling me you guys can't find one black business in your area that you can support? For one day? I have a hard time believing that.

exactly. this shyt is retarded if its a one day thing. business ain't impacted by a one day only boycott :camby:

that's like when cats were like don't buy gas on one day only to teach the oil company. knowing good and well you will just buy more shyt the day before and the day after anyways.
You gotta start somewhere. You can't ask people to do a week out the gate. That's just setting ourselves up for failure. Start with a day. If that goes right then eventually days turn to weeks and weeks turn to months.

I've seen plenty if black owned businesses that sell liquor and cigarettes.

This is a good IMO. I hate to be that person, but there are misspellings in the flyer. I don't know if one of you made it or someone else, but you should fix it. It looks unprofessional, and in these instances, it would behoove us to make a legitimate, professional example.

Like people have already said, this will only be effective if it's used as a jumping off point for people to permanently change their spending habits. A one day boycott won't do anything.

The best thing to do would be not to wait until Sept. 8th to support black businesses and start RIGHT NOW. Research the black businesses in your area. Keep a list if you have to. That's what I did. Find their contact details, follow them on Twitter, recommend them to other people if you are happy with their service, etc.

I am usually anal about misspelling, but I let it slide this time. You do have a point, though.
