All these injuries are a sign the E needs to slow down on shows

But who's gonna watch a bunch of star vs jobber matches in 2016? I mean that was cool back when I was a kid... but ever since wrestling took that step toward stars vs. stars, it'd be hard to go backwards and get viewers to sit thru the stars beatin' up random locals again. They've been putting stars against stars on the regular since '97... a lot of current fans didn't even grow up watching jobber matches. Y'all talk about ratings now, wonder what they'd look like if they started doin' that.
you're saying you wouldn't be excited if brock lesnar had a match on raw this week?

does it matter who he's facing or how long it takes for him to win? don't you just wanna see someone get taken to suplex city?

I'm sayin' that if Brock Lesnar is wrestling Freddie Joe Floyd, The New Day are goin' against Steve Gatorwolf & Mario Mancini, and Dean Ambrose is facing Terry Gibbs... nah, I don't give a shyt. :yeshrug: Maybe if it was 1989.

well you look forward to a brock match more than an ambrose match because you don't get to see him as much and when you do... he's treated like a big deal. plus people actually SELL for him.

the other wrestlers might also have that allure if they were given the same treatment, unfortunately we are conditioned not to care.

This.

And you can tell more stories if occasionally a jobber lucks up and wins or wins due to fukkery.

Just look at how they advanced Kalisto with a 24 hour title run. ADR is still legit but Kalisto is now a little bit higher than Neville, Breeze, Social Outcasts, etc.

i agree..

if they dont do less shows they gotta book guys more realistically. you cant expect someone to go hard 265 days out of the year or however long they are touring...

Wrestling doesnt have an offseason and thats what kills these guys...no one should be booked more than 9 months out of the year...each guy should get 3 months off during his year...can be a full 3..or a month here and there...they need to rest. not only their bodies but their minds as well.

The only problem I see is that there is never a off season. Angles are constantly going on and they have to produce two prime time cable shows a week. I don't know if this is still the case but I read some house show and tv taping results from the late 80's/early 90's and it seemed they had it a lot rougher. They would wrestle Friday Night, wrestle Saturday afternoon in one city, Saturday evening in a nearby city, and then another match on Sunday night. That's four matches in three days! I can see why these guys end up on drugs. Taking bumps 3-4 a week without significant time to rest can lead to drugs and alcohol to ease the pain.
