OP is being a little hyperbolic but he isn't wrong.
super realistic games when done right (TLOU) are gems but most of these newer games are not on that caliber and end up tripping over themselves.
games these days take themselves way too seriously...I'm playing a videogame. I'm trying to escape the world and enter a different one for 3-5 hours when I actually sit down to play, I'm not trying to sit through some wack ultra-realistic cut scene with a forced story and uninspired voice acting from some big budget actor/actress. Oh but the faces look so real....so the fukk what.
another thing now is this open world spam bullshyt. These devs are just taking the easy way out and making games (watch dogs, shadow of mordor) with these bland, empty open worlds that give the impression that the player has all this freedom
in reality all it is is a ruse to mask the fact that they were too lazy to actually make a unique game experience that is actually worth 65 bucks.
Look at shadow of mordor....the only thing this game has going for it is the fighting - that they completely ripped of another game -, which is fun in spurts, but gets old after a while. Everything else is pretty much just tacked on garbage. I know this gen is gonna be flooded with shyt like this so you can't really fault people like the OP for feeling the way they do.

I kinda agree here. Open world games for the most part if not done right are bland as hell. Shadow of Mordor is boring as hell to me. I don't have a care in the world for the lore either. They pad these games out with a bunch of side quests and overwhelm you with a stream of content right at the start. I don't want to deal with all this stupid shyt.On the contrary, a more linear title like The Evil Within has got my attention so far. The only open world games I really enjoy are GTA games because Rockstar knows how to create a living breathing world that's fun to play around in. Most(Not all)other open world games fall flat compared to GTA.

man i like watching the real game, so ill choose a real to life game anyday, and alot of u clowns dont understand sports so i wouldnt expect u to understand why, and lets act like blitz and nba jams didnt come out for didnt come out last gen and nobody really brought them. which mean its not a high demand for them

Yeah and it's funny because most people may feel like open world games are harder to make but these days they aren't. I think it's much harder to make a game that is both linear and fun while giving the player an incentive to play it more than a few times.
I feel the same way about the evil within. This and woflenstein have been my two fav games so far this Gen.
