All those are slogans coined by white folks to minimize and dismiss the deaths of black males. When blacks chanted justice for Trayvon, whites chanted justice for Zimmerman. In Ferguson when the protesters chanted "hands up don't shoot", white folks coined their phrase. When black folks wore I can't breathe t- shirts for Eric Garner, White folks came with their t shirts. All lives matter Is their response to BLack Lives matter. In recent years we've watched them take every incident and try to deflect and minimize it to the point that now we have brothers going on suicide missions.. Because our plight is being toyed with. Because they feel like we're not being heard.
For Iverson to use that phrase comes off as being misinformed and aloof to what's going on when he is the prototype of what this movement is about. Who in the NBA has been more profiled, stereotyped and persecuted than AI?
And for the record, those are not simple little hash tags, they are dismissals they exist largely outside of social media. There are deaths w/out any accountability connected to those words. There is literally a movement behind those words. So don't minimize it breh. You've fallen for their trap if you do.
