AI's overrated but he'd be a starter

AI's overrated but he'd be a starter
this is the shyt we gonna have to deal with for the years to come
These pencil neck analytics geeks are going to do everything they can to destroy basketball
I hate to givd publicity to such a bad site, but there is a large group of "fans" who believe that jimmy butler isnt a good defender and allen iverson was a bum
Pace and Space :: NBA Breakfast Special: Why Allen Iverson Would Suck Today
Where do these people come from?
He actually shytted on this era too (and Kyrie) -this is the problem Im having lately with people who pull up random stats to discredit past eras
I think we can all agree on what he said was idiotic, but he's discrediting today's league as well.Iverson's 2001 playoff year was historically putrid. His Sixers charged through an atrocious Eastern Conference and made the Finals based entirely on there being no team good enough to seriously challenge them, while the Lakers tore up the vastly superior West (how superior? The 7 seed Portland Trail Blazers, who the Lakers played in the first round, won 50 games.)
Does this sound familiar? It should. Because the Cleveland Cavaliers just came through a very weak East, made the Finals more or less by default...and their point guard is terrible in the playoffs.
Of course, the statistics could argue that Irving's been great; he's shooting 46.2 percent overall and 43 percent from three, but that's mainly been on the strength of those terrible teams he played on his way to the Finals (in all but one of the games against Toronto, Irving hit at least half of his shots, for example.)
You ask that clown that agrees with you about Iverson being overrated that wrote that shyt. Guarantee you his opinion wasnt far off from it, easy to see just based on the things he said in that article. Why do you say this as if there's a group that actually stated this? Straw man. Straw man.![]()
defenses are better now than they were during his peak. If he played in the current era, he would have to improve his shot selection and probably move the ball more. Teams don't win with a guard taking 23-28 shots a night (many of them being bad shots) with 3-4.5 assists per game.Iverson would be better today than he was before
Of course he would. But here's the thing, you have extremists on BOTH sides - ones who value #s too much and ones who value their outdated/nostalgia-skewed eye-test too much. I've seen a posters state that Curry would be no better than Steve Kerr in the '90s simply because their eyes tell them so.Don't click that link and give that loser a few cents, Iverson would be great in any era.
have you been talking to my brotherOf course he would. ?"superteams" are nothing new. The difference now is that players have the option of free agency and the knowledge of how to use itA lot of folks forget that AI's most efficient season was when he had Melo on his team.
What's one major trend in today's NBA? Super teams. If AI teamed up with 1 or two other players like the elite players did today, analytics would completely tell a different tale.
