A million views per month gets you like $16g a year. That’s not shyt.The title of the article is deceiving, based on what they wrote people still make bank but they started their channel before youtube starting censoring content. So it's harder for newer channels to break through and get the bag.
I still go by whatever socialblade says to estimate if a channel makes money or not
It's nice if it's a side hustle.
But lets take a look at Akademiks since we all know him.

$16g a year could be an alright side hustle but if you’re getting a million views per month then you’re working hard for it. Again, only the top 3-4% of youtubers even get a million views per month.

So 3.5% of all youtube channels are making more than $1000/month in ad revenue only. That's far more people than I expected
And we're not even considering potential sponsorship and affiliate income. It's even more impressive if we take into account that 99% of all youtube account holders aren't even trying to make a living on the platform.

The problem is that YouTube keeps investing so much of their money on that YouTube Red/YouTube TV garbage when that same investment money should've been going to the creators instead that made them as big as they are today.

Essentially youtube changed the requirements to become a partner and removed ads from any video reported enough times even if it isnt controversial.
Before everything went down I was getting around 9$ per 1000 AD views (not just video views). Now my friend who has a pretty big channel is getting around 7$ per 1000 views. Youtube also takes a 45% cut, idk if that number ia still the same now. He went from making around 90k a year off youtube to 50k or so the paat year. And his channel is pretty kid friendly, he's one of those minecraft dudes. His shyt was boominh a few years back, i almost quit producing just to make minecraft videos but I couldn't stand playing that shyt.
My shyt got demonetized during the exodus because I chopped up a bunch of copyrighted music videos for the visualizations. A chick i know had her whole channel demonetized because she got reported for showing cleavage during her makeup/try on videos.
