Lost my house the same way in May 6, 2016. Dryer was old ass fukk though, shyt was from like 99 and had been dying for some time. I caught once like in the op, out it out by dumping some cleaner and filling the spray bottle with water, used that to put it out. The 2nd time i want lucky.

Night before i put some clothes in and checked in the morning, shyt still wasn't dry. I started the dryer hopped in the shower and washed my hair. That's where i fukked up if i ain't way my hair i would've caught it, i had long hair then. After like 20 mins i get out the shower and open the bathroom door, i smell burning. I thought it was a cheap phone charger i bought, that shyt happened before. But all the shyt looked fine. Opened my bedroom door, smoke everywhere, shyt had spread. Woke up my bro and got the fukk up out of there.

:mjcry: R.I.P. to my fish. They were on the other side of the laundry room getting called to death. Y'all would be so big now. :to: I'll never forget y'all nikkas.

Did you keep using the same dryer that caught fire the first time?

Yeah, at first no but going other places to dry my shyt was such an inconvenience. Started slowly using again but keeping an eye on it and making sure the lint trap was clean. They never told us if that's what started it or not. The decision to wash my hair though, I really didn't wanna do that shyt and if I didn't shyt would be way different now. It worked out though. :manny:

:picard::picard: That's scary!!! Now every time I dry my clothes, I'm going to be worried about this type of shyt :martin:I'm not strong enough to drag a whole dryer down the stairs of my house, through the door and down some more steps. That dryer weighs twice as much as I do. did you ask the firefighters what else can be done if this happens?:sadcam:
Nothing close the door to the dryer leave and call 911.

Dryers should be outside or in detached garages at least 20ft from the house imo.

Dryers inside the house is a deathwish.

I'm extremely lucky.

Last night I put my work clothes to wash. Then tossed them in the dryer. My dryer is old and had the heating element replaced two years ago.

Lately it's been making alot of noise and getting REALLY hot the past couple weeks. My clothes were drying I was in the living room watching TV when all of a sudden I smelled what I thought at the time was burnt hair.:scust:

I go to the garage and check on the dryer. It's super hot I turn it off open it up check the lint tray and see a orange light. :merchant:

My dryer was on FIRE  I quicky unplugged it, got my clothes out opened the garage dragged the burning dryer out into the driveway ran inside got a cup of water and tossed it on the dryer..

It kept burning:mjlol:

Called 911 firefighters came in less than 3 min.
Quickly put it out and complemented me on getting it out in the street while burning. I live in a duplex I could have burned the whole thing down if I did not act quickly I was seconds away from losing EVERYTHING.

Getting a new dryer this weekend. I don't do laundromats:hhh:
Dryers are the most expensive appliance as per electricity. They just suck money. Buy one that is good with energy.

I thought we're all supposed to clean the lint traps before and after every wash.

Takes seconds to do that, tf?
