Dude..he is talking about STREAING ROYALTIES!!!!.....TUNECORE IS NOT A STREAMING SERVICE...GOTTDAMIT!!!

TUNECORE IS A DISTRIBUTOR aka DIGITAL AGGREGATORS

....THIER BUSINESS MODEL IS THEY TAKE THE MONEY UPFRONT UNLIKE OTHER DISTRIBITORS (DIGITAL AGGREGATORS) such as INGROOVES which gets the back end royalties....

AND WHAT DA FUKK U TAKLING ABOUT ITUNES for they ARE NOT A STREAMING SERVICE AS WELL.....DUMMY!!!

PANDORA (a STREAMING SERVICE dummy!) was being dissed by Radiohead lead singer for having artists split up a measly 11 cent on the dollar while the rest went to Pandora, the digital aggregator and the publishers....

this is what the average artist is making off of YOUTUBE these days..THE MOST POPULAR STREAMING SERVICE to date in regards to visuals and audio

read it and weep:

Based on grade school math, artists stand to earn anywhere from $0.00222 to $0.0025 per stream.

And fukk what you say about SPOTIFY you full of shyt......unless that dude had a serious Beyoncé like partnership with Spotify he was making that bread you claim he was making off them streams..

DUDE I CO-OWNED A INTERNET RADIO STATION ...I KNEW IT WAS A SCAM.....

here I am CHARGING artists to get their songs played on my station, but yet they can't even benefit from the potential revenue that the broadcast station was bringing in

I couldn't be apart of that fukkery anymore cause I was a manager of starving artists as well

THAT'S WHY I TRIED TO FIGHT FOR MY ARTIST TO RECIEVE STREAMING REVENUE BUT MY HOSTING NETWORK DIDN'T WANNA DO THAT ...CAUSE THEY KNEW THE BULK OF THAT REVENUE WOULD COME FROM THE ADVERTISING INCOME THAT THEY WERE GETTING .....

IT'S A DIRTY GAME..........BUT UNFORTUNATLY U DON'T UNDERSTAND CAUSE YOU TOO BUSY THROWING YOURSELF IN THE BUSHES KNOWN AS SMART DUMB N1GGA TERRIRORY CAUSE YOU LACK COMPREHENSION SKILLS

Well isn't this the lesser of two evils. He either plays by the rules of this system or risk getting his shyt stolen where he gets nothing.

Im sympathetic to his strife and those of his ilk, but the game is the game always has been.

Dude is a song writer, not the artist. Has any light been shed on the split the artist gets as opposed to the song writer? If as the writer you are already getting a small cut from Pandora then you split that 3 ways of course you aint seeing shyt. But you know the labels are getting a lot more than that off those streams so the artists and songwriters need to negotiate streaming royalties as part of their deals.
He wrote and sang the song.

Avicii just did the beat

bullshyt, salute to David Byrne and anyone else who removed their music from this thieving ass site

in streaming you agree to, what is virtually the newport/puma sweat publishing deal.
i just look at it like they are giving me a possible new listener.
that is on some i heard this record, and i don't know what it is shyt, if anything at the very least.
i look at it as, sooner or later the record labels and itunes are going to ruin music and culture to the end of ruin.
so, this is a gateway model of what is is gonna be like anyway.
where labels and anyone playing music is going to horde all the profits off of any stream, possible.
where you are completely expendable as a lightly paid employee jingle maker.

y'all got this shyt so twisted it doesn't even make sense

first off... if you $1 a record in the 90s, you had a great fukking deal. regular starting prices on revenue from cd's was about 10-20 cents an album.... AFTER you recoup the advance and half the cost of your videos... so if y'all thought you'd EVER get rich based off ONLY selling cds, you're fukking crazy

so now, with tunecore or streaming sites, YOU CUT OUT THE RECORD LABEL... you don't have to press cds, it's all on the internet.. a sale of a "cd" now gets you 100% OF YOUR SALES... and they have about 100 plus stores, all over the world.. something you literally cannot do, without a label. you're not getting your cd out worldwide or in ANY store for 29.99... probably couldn't pull that off with 20k

but like dude said, that's not streaming... now streaming you get paid pennies.. you know why.. cause you ain't fukking doing nothing.. you aren't hosting the bandwidth, you aren't going out and getting advertisers, you aren't pulling in subscribers, you aren't doing shyt.. submitting a song/album and sitting back getting money when someone searches "rap mix 2014" is not fukking hard work... so you not getting shyt

now that that is established... the next part is ARE YOU SIGNED OR NOT... i can do whatever i want and keep whatever i want cause i have no label. but such and such has a label so guess what?? they taking a piece of all that too... so where you was getting back 100% off sales and a small % off streams... well now you signed that slave deal and the record label is taking 90% of that too

but on the other hand.. you got that label push.. so you're selling more and streaming more..

throw in other factors like writing credit, publishing money, how many times you're spun, how good or bad your deal is... and you can either eat or get fukked over

but all this uniform "you can get rich" or "you'll be broke" is all false.. too many factors, artist to artist, to say exactly what will happen. and if you stop streaming, what else you gonna do?? taylor swift could open her own streaming site... or the label can open one... but is anyone gonna subscribe to a no name artist with his own stream??? fukk no.. so he'd be better off using the plays to push his digital cds... someone like taylor would be better off cutting off fans cause her fans will still buy her shyt

This. People are getting it confused over the label "screwing" over artists and Spotify. Spotify isn't screwing anyone, they don't make any money. Tell me how a company with a negative net margin is screwing anyone over?

im not opposed to the streaming sites existing, but there needs to better dispersment of funds. that's just way too many clicks on their website for 4k

they have 150M subscibers and generate about 250M a year. they can do better, someone at the tippy top is eating a little too much

and how many artists are on there???

you not adding this up right... ok so they got 250 million dollars right??

subtract what it costs to run the business (employees, offices, servers, etc etc)

then subtract what they have to pay the labels to get the rights to these songs and artists and albums

then they gotta make a profit

really think how many songs are on there.. how many artists there are.. it ain't just rap... its rap, r&b, rock, country, blues, jazz, heavy metal, music from the 10s,00s,90s,80s,70s,60s,50s... every artist with a different label.. every artist having a different deal.. some artists having multiple labels.. some alive.. some dead..

if you EVER believe these artists are gonna get a GOOD rate, on someone streaming them from a playlist, y'all tripping

oh and by the way... taylor swift just dropped a music app!!! wasn't about no damn spotify.. it was about her saying, i can generate more money having my own exclusive app.. and her doing that.. ain't nobody downloading no aloe black app, nor is his album selling.. he should be thanking god for 168 million times being played cause it damn sure didn't equal out to anyone buying the album or knowing anything about it

I see Aloe's point.. but he's not looking at the flip of this. A lot of these streaming sites sometimes break artists. I was talking to my girl about this and she was like, if it wasnt for streaming sights, she might not have heard certain artists before or even purchased their material after hearing it on Pandora. How much of his sales were due to someone coming across his song on these streaming sites? Go hit the road and get your money and stop trying to sit back and live off recorded music. Its a different age now. They need to get that. Obviously, Taylor Swift and other huge stars dont need streaming. But, most of them do and wouldnt hurt to have it on there.

look man, its no definites in this industry.. not something I even care to debate. But if you sitting here telling me some artists havent benefitted off these sites, then you lying to yourself.

Music industry is just what it is now. You take the good with the bad off the streams. If he choose to remove his music, so be it..
