Alright, Facebook has gone too far....someone help me

I don't get on facebook much anymore, I just use it to message ppl for the most part. Long story short, I just got a notification that truly annoyed me.

Occasionally I'll get a notification about " (persons name) changed their profile picture" or "added a picture". Usually I'm busy and doing something and I dont think twice about.

But today, Saturday, I'm sitting here not doing anything, and this loud notification goes off and I'm thinking I have a new message....I look at my phone and it says, "(persons name) is in a relationship" This is too far. Not to be rude but I simply don't care.

My question is, how do I turn this crap off? I went into "settings", and I see how to turn notifications off/on for messages, and friend requests, etc. I want to keep those on, but WHERE do I turn off these useless notifications about ppl updating their status, or adding a picture or being in a relationship?

I turned off all my FB notifications. there's nothing on there so urgent on there, that I gotta see it in real time. I will check it every once in a while, but I'm not on there messaging people or nothing, so fukk it.
