I think it subtly connects in a way, too.

Just when ADR wins the title, and successfully defends it, Swagger comes back after being away and is intent on getting a chance to be #1 contender. Then he introduces his manager... they've already suggested on commentary that Swagger's been brainwashed... it's like he left in need of direction, and then he met Colter who took advantage of that, and now he's back after seeing a Mexican win the championship as part of Colter's agenda.
