To me Hogan and Rock are 1a and 1b. Rock's hollywood career has given him a serious boost to his already high level of fame from wrestling.

Over in the UK, on this game show called Pointless, more people knew who Big Daddy and Kenzo Nagasaki were over Rock/Andre/Hogan :dahell:

Figures, British wrestling was huge during the 70's/80's on prime-time TV, on channels that everyone had access to; whereas there was no coverage of American wrestling until Sky came along in the late 90's, and even then that was a pay TV channel at 1am

Even if you never watched it their names are still known over here because of the popularity they had in their prime

I think it's time to rethink Hogan at his hottest being more famous than the Rock is modern day. Hogan was everywhere in the mid 80's yes. Rock is EVERYWHERE EVERYWHERE modern day and has been for a few years.
Like you'd have to struggle to find a medium he doesn't have a major presence on

1. Rock
2. Hogan
3. Austin
4. Ric Flair (look at social media, rap songs sampling him, athletes talking his promos during warm ups etc)
5. Macho Man

If we're being serious here then Chris Benoit is probably as (in)famous as Rock and Hogan for all the wrong reasons

Had so many discussions with random nikkas over the years where they mention "that wrestler that killed his wife and kid"

it hurts me to admit, but you may be right. it's a debate at least.

i believe hogan was/is still more synonymous with wrestling though.

If you just stay within the realm of wrestling I agree Hogan is REALLY hard to beat, all of his bs aside he was relevant for over 30 years.

Rock was only in wrestling alone for maybe 7 years total so the longevity card is really the only thing can be played against him and even that's hard to do because he maximized the hell out of his minutes though.

Either yall niccas have been brainwashed with that Vince revisionist itish or yall really lack the respect for the real history of wrestling.

How is niccas really not mentioning GOLDBERG. I get maybe yall Millennials that was like 5 when GOLDBERG was wrestling. But anyone 30 and up should easily remember his popularity reign.

Maybe some dont wanna believe it but during the height of his era... he was slightly even more popular than Austin for a bit and for awhile at worse was equally popular.

If the Attitude Era is defined by Austin and Rock..... The WCW MNW era was defined by NWO and Goldberg
