Congratulations, you are now on the same road many before you have been. You will now be listening to the soundtrack of your youth for the rest of your life.

I can't get down w/ a lot of the newer stuff either. I've tried and tried, but alas I can't. Most recent "new" thing I've got going on lately is Gary Clark, Jr. but he's a throwback to older music in general.

I dont think music is gettin' worse... Its just people growin' up, gettin' responsabilities and findin' other things in life that amuze them...

Im 25 next week, and its just not music thats not as appealling to me as it was before... its tv shows, movies, certain hobbies...

I can only think of sports retainin' as much of my attention now as it did before...

Because I rather hear about something I can relate to in real life than constantly hearing the same thing about "We in VIP poppin bottles, With a spanish model, just bought a new watch, I got killers on my team. I get head and p*ssy every night, just sold a pack, Goons on deck, I ride with the choppa, yadda, yadda"

My thing is you don't even have to be "smart" or "lyrical" rapper to add some substance in your rhymes, but yet everybody keeps rapping the same bullshyt that the last 10 hot rappers were rapping about.

The only song Lil Wayne I even still listen to from C4 is "Nightmares of the Bottom" and thats because he is actually talking about something.

I'm not saying all songs have to have substance because we need balance..

but for me Substance = Replay Value
:childplease: You relate to Nightmares of the bottom

But, can't relate to Started from the Bottom:blessed:

These nikkas today are waaaaaaaay more relatable to them 90 nikkas either talking that back to africa shyt or that black John Gotti shyt.

Congratulations, you are now on the same road many before you have been. You will now be listening to the soundtrack of your youth for the rest of your life.

I don't know why this is so hard to understand. Its the same thing with Albums they deem "classic"

You are going to feel "closer" to music you grew up on then music that is new to you in your adult hood.

Ask a nikka in the 90s to name classic album and he will start spouting out stuff that came out while he was in high school.

Same with every other decade

This thread is the equivalent of those c*ntsack YouTube comments that those little 15 year old pissants always post on old songs and always has 400 Thumbs Ups

"I'm 17 and a half and I wish I was born in 1970 so I could listen Led Zeppelin on vinyl. This is real music. All the kids at my school think I'm weird, and I'm just like, they don't know good music LOL!!"

fukk. Off.

When you all get in you're mid 20's,
and older,
trust,
you will take it worser,
than us,
once you realize,
how much urban music,
is garbage today.
Speak for yourself. Im 20 now and I promise you I won't. It can't really get too much worse than this. I know who to listen to and where to look for good quality music. Sucks y'all don't cuz we post about the decent artists all the time. Y'all just too :flabbynsick: & stubborn to listen or give them a chance. That's y'all problem :pachaha:

It some good music out there, but a majority of it has 0 substance.

Whenever you say to someone, "What is this song even about?"

They be like :childplease: "Who Cares, its goes hard in the Club and my Car"

I swear it seems like I been hearing that for the last decade.

Even when I download all these mixtapes, I end up deleting 90% of them within a week.

This. Not just hip hop in general but all genre.

Friend,
it's only so long,
that you,
yourself and your friends,
can ride around,
and get it,
and goto the clubs,
so many of times.

Ironic how the likes of K-Dot has substance and has by far the most replayability in his music. Most trap rappers sell from 7-45k the first week like Ace Hood, but people STILL rush to the booth spitting that redundant trap shyt.
