So I have been working in a company for close to 6 months and am expected to pass my probation.

My friend got banned from driving due to speeding and asked me to sort a job out for him at my company. This would help him out because I can give him a lift to work.

I managed to sort this out for him and he has been working here a couple of weeks.

The issue now is that my company is going to trial a 4 day week which I obviously want to opt into.

However, my friend is not eligible for the 4 day week because he is still on probation and he has kind of hinted that he doesn't want me to take the 4 day week.

If I'm off for the one day then there is no one to take him to work. Part of me wants to take the 4 day week regardless because I feel like I have already done enough for this guy and its his fault that he is banned from driving.

The other side of me doesn't know if I would be a good friend if I was to put my interests first. My friend basically said he might just end of leaving the job if worse comes to worse.

What side are you on?

He has to catch two trains to get there but is that a lot if its only for one day and someone else is giving you a lift there and back for the remaining week?

Its not alot at all. Dude should be taking those two trains 5 days a week. He sounds like an ungrateful leech. How long is the train rides?

You taking him back and forth from work 4 days a week. That's more than some parents do. Tell that grown man to handle his business for one day.

Finesse a woman into doing it. Take a train. Call an uber. Get a bike. Deliver pizzas and say you got lost for 8 hours. Something

That's nothing. Hell, he can get a rail pass if they're available where you are and the fare is reduced by 30-50% every day.

2 trains with the total journey time less than a hour :martin:

My first job out of college required me to take a bus, two trains, and a cab to work. My commute time was a little under 2.5hrs. This was before Uber.

Your friend is being lazy and a p*ssy. Don't feel guilty. An honorable man does what he needs to do to get to work so that he can put food on his table.

You got him a job. fukk is his problem??? :mjtf:

If he ends up leaving the job because he can't fleece you for free transport I would suggest you give your friendship the boot too. Ungrateful POS. :camby:
