What about

???:ohhh:

I'll check this out, good look
Best thing to do is stack your money, raise your kids to raise their kids and stack their money so that generation can spend time creating art

I remember being a kid and asking my dad why Disney sitcoms usually only had one Black kid in the cast, he told me we were 13% of the population and didn't control the media and that was good enough for me tbh.

Might be reductive, and I fully hear and share your sentiment, but media representation shouldn't be a pressing issue, we're behind everyone but native americans and symbolism is dangled in front of us every so often in a bullshyt attempt to shut ppl up.

Some brehs (not saying you OP) really think rebooting the 90's and wearing suits on TV is reversing centuries of bullshyt
You see my point. We have all these"ancient such and such" movies but the media representation is a major influence imo.
The money isn't playing on a NBA or NFL team, it's owning one

Personally, im tired of historical black movies period. I think we've had Enough.

I think there are other models we can use. For example, I admire the modern Asian story that the Daniels brothers told with "everything everywhere all at once". It had a mostly Asian cast and was easily accepted by non-asian audiences due to it simply having a good story. It did not require the chinese producers to bludgeon non-chinese viewers with an unrequested history lesson.

Its far easier to sell a general black scifi, thriller, or romance film than it is to sell a 2part series on Selma, Mansa Musa, or Shaka Zula
