I hate the mornings, I hate waking up early, my body may wake up early but I'm not mentally awake or ready to interact until after 11. I'm not a morning person at all - I'm cranky in the am. My most productive times of the day are from 4pm to 4am. Normal bedtime is at 1-2am. Morning prep time starts at 6. Work day starts at 9:30. I'm always 10-20mins late for everything (except for when it comes to kids school and impt events), but people are used to it, so it is what it is bc they know that I'm dependable. Waking up anytime before 8am on the weekends is pure torture. I even grocery shop late at night around 10. I haven't been to bed before 11 pm since I was in junior high.
The night time is the right time. :blessed:
Morning people are usually Type A personalities- always happy and sociable at 7am with their morning energy burst..ugggh, wanting to have whole convos. Commuting with them is the worst - just let me put on my headphones and tune them out in peace.
:unimpressed:

Is it really bummy to sleep in late when you’re off?

Why y’all think that?

:patrice:
No it's not- it just means that you're more productive in the late afternoon or evening. People mistake waking up "late" after 9am - as lazy or slow. That's not facts. I'm a night owl, so all my activity and energy is reserved for when I'm at my most efficient.
People who wake up early are usually sleep or start getting tired by 9-10pm, like toddlers or old people.

fukkin facts!!

How do you manage waking up everyday early for work? I work late hours so that’s normal, I used to sleep in school and if I did stay up the whole day I slept as soon as I got home lmao.

I never had a normal sleep schedule and I never really did the whole morning thing without being tired ever.

Imma full-fledge night owl.

:dwillhuh:How? What time do you usually go to bed?
I have 5 different snooze settings on my phone to wake up- How do yall do it?

It's easy. When I was a kid I used to wake up at 5:00am and stare in the dark until cartoons would come on at 5:30am

Used to leave my house at 6:30am to head to the park and practice my game at the basketball court. I love mornings

Same with me. For work.. it's hard. I do the busy work during the regular work day and all my data reviews/transfers during the actual work day bc they're time consuming and do all the real work where I can concentrate when I get home at night. I make myself get out of the urge to sleep extra time by thinking what a dumbass I would feel like on some loser ish, not maintaining my job bc I can't get out of bed. I use my phone as an alarm, set it for 6 different wake up times in 15 min. intervals with snooze settings each time, so I can break myself out of a deep sleep. I'm going to also keep it 100 - my mom will call me, to wake me up in the morning too:mjlol::mjcry:she knows I'm bad with my mornings. She'll call at like 5:45 to get me up and call again at 6:15 to make sure that I actually woke up.

I get up early for work because I know that I HAVE to - it's a necessity. Don't be like me though - I'm always late or if I'm not late, I'm beating the clock. But I have time in at my work - so they know my work ethic, which compensates for my 10-15 min lateness. Shyt is stressful af, but like you said, I don't think I ever had a "normal" sleep schedule, I'm not tired at night but I damn sure curse myself in the morning bc I feel the consequences. when I went to college - I didn't have strict schedule rules like at home, so ever since then, I've been on my own time. All my MWF classes were late afternoon and evening; my Tues and Thurs classes - I had one at 8am and then made it so that I could go back to the dorm and take a nap, lol, until my next class until 4. My 8am class was like a skid class, and there were mostly football players in there and my bf that I was dating at the time took the class too- only reason why I made it on time is bc he would come through and wake me up. Also, some of the athletes would pay me to do their homework/papers; it's like I couldn't be late so we could do the exchange before class started. But I always ended up falling asleep in class anyway. my grades were good and the professor didn't make a big deal if he noticed. Dudes in that class used to joke with me about it - one morning, I fell asleep thinking no one would notice - . Apparently, they played a practical joke by bringing a pillow to class and presenting me with it. :dwillhuh::mjlol:
this was the days before social media clout chasing got real bad otherwise there would probably still be a video out there of it.

:scust:you're one of those people. all giddy go lucky in the morning. j/k.
TV helps - I've been falling asleep with the tv on since I was a kid and still do.
But lately, I find that having an educational or black media youtube channel playing in the background or a sitcom on, to get my mind stimulated when I wake up helps a lot.
I guess that's like the "adulting" version of a cartoon.
You're probably a very organized person too, in terms of having things laid out and your things in order before you leave out.
@Balla @CarmelBarbie -would you consider yourself to be an organized or disciplined person? I'm trying to see if there is a coorelation between morning/night people and a sense of order.
Like I NEED written lists or notes to keep organized or else I'm scatterbrained bc I'm tired from being up at night- I'm on autopilot in the morning.

I’d say I’m organized, I’m not that disciplined like I used to because I’ve been neglecting the gym lol.

I just think to myself? Can I really wake up and do a 9-5 for like 40 years? That’s why I want to find a field I can work later or create my own stream of income because I do not fukk with mornings.

Yeah I consider myself "messy organized"
I'm very anal about where I put my clothes, organize them between work clothes, gym workout clothes, leisure clothes, etc

Organize my shoes betw work shoes, leisure shoes, and gym shoes

I'm not perfectly neat, but I know where everything is and don't want anyone to move it

To me if I wake up 10am, I feel like I wasted half my day
