I can still appreciate his grown up shyt but Com hasn't been rugged since around like water for chocolate imo and even then he had turned the corner to the safe for white people and coffee shop Com.

and kinda off-topic but all the love that "Be" gets is so fukkin fake. i hate how because kanye and jay dee produced it and it was supposedly "Common's big comeback" after he dropped Electric Circus (which is unfairly hated-on but that's a whole other thread) that it gets deemed a classic when it's not. If any Com lp deserves that status it's Resurrection, not Be.

Be is a solid album breh, some of those songs are fukkin crazy. intro, corner, food. doesnt mean resurrection isnt good too
