spelling error in title about bout not wanting to read. Smh. nikkas these days look to underlines to tell them when shyt spelled wrong. Don't know what op is race wise but I do know black folks seem to take pride in not knowing shyt.

Someone explain to me how someone is not bettering themselves if they choose not to read some frivolous chapter book just for the sake of it? If your studying for a class or cert exam yeah I understand because your getting something tangible out of that. Reading some Stephen King novel or some shyt "juss cause i likes to do da readin" doesn't get any respect from me

I love to read. I just don't have the time. It's addicting too because once I get a book I have to finish it & than I actually feel unproductive because I should be doing something else with that time.

You are literally running from knowledge/information

"WANNA HIDE SOMETHIN FROM A nikka? PUT IT IN A BOOK"

:krs: @ this thread.

Man...its funny and sad at the same time.
Do you all not want to improve yourself at all?
In my free time , No I don't want to improve my self

I want to do things I consider fun or relaxing

reading is a skill that needs to be nurtured. you don't just hit a reading level and stay in a holding pattern for the rest of your life. those of you that haven't read a book definitely have poorer comprehension skills, and i'm sure your writing skills are relatively shyt as well.

gives good insight on your posts tbf :ehh:

When you're trying to relax or have fun, how many times have you done something that you consider boring?

A lot of people got in their high horse and miss the point of this thread.

Some people can't sit down and watch TV

I can't sit down and read a book and enjoy myself, shyts boring

This is fine

But begging for approval or cosigns for mediocrity is stupid. You want to get props for being stupid and lazy :childplease:

You sound like the kind of dude who would brag about doing bad in school

Dog nobody knows who you are, its a little presumptuous to think anyone is doing anything to impress you

You might not know this but people do a lot of things w/o broadcasting them to the world

Another thread @CrimsonTider makes where he asks a question, then proceeds to ask another question to every ones answer.

I love reading. If you go online you are reading 90% of the time so I don't get why that same energy can't be put into reading a book. I can tell most people on here don't read though. They lack comprehension skills, critical thinking and the ability to understand context clues.

I agree with OP....Honestly books are archaic. Back in the past that was the best way to convey information and stories. Now with technology we have documentaries, websites, articles, podcast, radio, streaming services and others things to provide us with knowledge at a better more efficient rate than books. Nothing wrogn with reading, but a full 500+ page book is like being punished, its boring and ya mind will wander.

I love to read articles and search stuff, but to sit with a for hours at a time is just unbearable, and to the people that fins this ignorant you are funny

I haven't read a full book since elementary. I've maintained an A in all my English courses all the way through college graduation. I write and review documents now in corporate America. As long as one stays reading something, you can do well, it doesn't have to be a book.
