Then you'll enjoy Arkham Knight....only about two "boss battles" in the whole game, one being completely optional.

Though using your logic OP, styling on regular enemies also becomes monotonous after about the fifth or so group. Mark of Kri added the countering of bosses to make things more fun, but ultimately a boss battle is less about having one big bad to break up the pacing, but a test of ones skills. Basically a difficulty level of its own. The general populous responds better to well done boss battles, and not just bullet sponges and the good ol 1-2-3 phase.

In that same context, WB games styled on Rocksteady when they added the bosses in Origin. Truly unique fights that have you utilize everything you've learned so far. Its a decent test of skill. Though if you want true boss battles done in a very unique way, try Shadow of Modor.

shyt is an outdated concept :scusthov:

I prefer styling on regular enemies :ahh: too many boss battles devolve in to some trial & error shyt, ie. the boss can only be defeated in a certain way so you have to conform to a certain style of play in order to beat it. shyt is mind-numbingly boring & tedious :snoop: the only good boss battle in recent memory was jetstream sam in metal gear rising and that's because it was just a simple 1v1 showdown. you could fight in your own style and win, you didn't have to do any extra special shyt & force yourself to play how the game wanted you to play.

I'm gonna be with the minority here apparently, but boss battles are fukking gimmicky as shyt. There's no challenge once you figure out the movements and where to hit the enemy. I could do with less boss battles myself. I never enjoyed them (except for a few cases), because it's just figure out the pattern and weak spot. How's that fun? I rather battle it out with a dozen high powered "normals" then one big "boss.". :manny:

i hate when they throw arbitrary boss battles in at certain points of a game for no reason

for instance: the random ass boss battle at the end of the Shangri La missions in Far Cry 4....why the fukk do i gotta keep shooting arrows in this random demon bird's mouth?? the fukk does this have to do with anything??

there's no payoff, reward, sense of accomplishment...just some bullshyt you gotta do to finish up some missions that themselves have no actual impact on anything

but a well-executed boss battle is a highlight of any game...like the ones in MGS3, certain ones in the DMC series, some Final Fantasy bosses...they can be the most memorable parts of the game if done correctly

that was emerald weapon you thinkin of, he was a dikkhead too

but you could get the underwater materia to take the timer off...if you tried using knights of the round on his ass with that timer you would be dead by the 3rd time you cast it :pachaha:

good boss battles change their patterns and fukk you up if you dont adapt. they force you to use the skills youve gained (not just rpg skills but actual playing skills) and serve as a test for what youve learned.

you probably play games with shytty boss battles if thats your rationale on them. do yourself a favor and play some souls.

I feel you on it if a game has like a stupid number of boss battles that are similar then it gets tedious. But not liking boss battles at all ? :dame: If you have been gaming since you were a kid that's the shyt that gets your dikk hard in a game. The frustration of trying to beat a boss over and over and finally wasting the fukker :ahh:it's part of the accomplishment of beating a game, who wants to take all the pawns and call it a day?:dahell:
