i still carry one of these.
my lady pays for spotify and the only time i ever use it is if we are in a car and i haven't had a chance to download something yet that just came out.
there are mixtapes, loosies, freestyles, demos, and unreleased albums that never get put on up on spotify, tidal, apple, etc
real music heads know the deal
This is true, so I have my own music collection still on the cloud. But it's a supplement to Spotify. If there's an album already on Spotify no reason to download it

I'm addicted to music and I'm all about convenience...in the 90s that meant going to the record store every week and toting around multiple cd cases that held like a hundred cds a piece in the whip and shyt...then in the aughts I was super heavy with the downloading and swore I would never buy an album again...now I got apple music and Spotify and damn near hardly download anything cause streaming is so quick and convenient...they actually found a way to get me to pay for music again

My only beef with Spotify is the lack of mixtapes. My workout playlist isn't the same without the Future and Esco tapes.

I feel the same way.

Im older, ive got about 10-15 crates of vinyl chillin, own turntables and still listen to vinyl from time to time. However, I think streaming is great. I have access to basically anything I want on my phone or laptop anywhere.

When Apple hits me for that 9.99, im good. I feel like it's well worth it.

Still old school. I download everything and treat the music in my phone like my old school CD collection back in the day. I have the Note 5 bUT I'm getting the Note 7 for the expandable storage. Damn near 300 gb :blessed:

i don't pay for anything that isn't worth my money
i've payed for a few albums by independent cats that i truly support like gibbs and starlito but they always deliver
i will buy vinyl if it's an album worth adding to my collection
i purchased meyhem lauren's piatto d'oro on vinyl recently but most of my hip hop vinyl are certified classics
i also buy merch and go to shows

I listen to a lot of rare and obscure music 50% of the shyt I listen to ain't on these services....fukk em'

the rare and other shyt that's not on these streaming services is probably better than the crap they put on there anyways. if the entire music industry we're to shut down right now i'd be good, i got so much rarities and classics i wouldn't even consider streaming. they just use this to make the music more accessible to people. most these young cats who stream probably ain't even computer savvy or don't even know to download anything. i been downloading music since Kazaa, Napster MP3 Rocket & Limewire we're around.

You don't have to download every time, if you are cheap/broke af and have a weak plan it's just to save the shyt on your phone :dahell:.

Aloe Blacc has to get his situation straight, the streaming companies payout is over 70 % of their revenue. The minimum the rights holders of those songs would get for the worst paying service (Spotify) is 800k, so the other rights holders finessed him not the streaming company. And let's not act like people like Tyga hasn't released CD's and got nothing at all, was CD's wack or was it Birdman/Universal.

do you nikkas not know how the internet works? :mindblown:
