Facebook is thriving? Based on what? Yeah it's growing internationally; which of course helps to sustain it, and cover up for the fact that it's userbase here in the west is severely dwindling. In fact Facebook's been in the decline for the last year. They can't keep the youth, and the younger Millennials and Gen Z's are not gravitating to it. Facebook's UI hasn't even changed since 2012. Facebook is mostly used by businesses, and business owners given they can market to people internationally; however even that's now becoming jeopardized as Facebook is now beginning to go through, and delete business pages. Youtube actually allows people to monetize their content, and market successfully through their platform. Youtube also allows people to set up networks, and connect through sponsors to generate more earning potential. Facebook has done none of that.

06 was when shyt started getting good cause it was weak like Vimeo at first.....classics like the Juggernaut video and Unforgivable was running the shyt...then music slowly started to creep in until Vevo took over that shyt. Also the 09 wave of gamer videos which is almost the lifeblood youtube besides music now.

It doesn't matter. The future of social media is visual pics and video rather than text. That's why Facebook bought IG since people will get annoyed with too much pictures in the main FB app. Hell, it's the reason why YouTube is thriving(and still growing in influence) today.

Well yes, thank you for proving my point. My whole argument was that people were gravitating away from Facebook, in favor of youtube and instagram. Facebook purchased instagram to help it keep it's dominance. It still doesn't change the fact that facebook itself is dying.
