Am I the only one who thinks Guru was overrated?

No disrespect to the dead but dude was slightly above average at best. He never had the best verse on any of those posse cuts.

I mean dude has been outshined by the likes of Big Shugg, Lil Dap, and Greg Nice :heh:

This just further cements the case for Primo being the GOAT cuz Gangstarr is truly a legendary group with classics under their belt. Guru fit Primos production like a glove. Or did Primo just make Guru sound better? It would be hard for me to believe that Guru would be considered a legend if he had been paired with anyone else

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Jeru and Guru should have been the REAL Group Home.

Had it been them rapping over those beats instead of the Cheef Queef level spitters of that time... the reviews and sales would have been much different.

Imagine The damaja spitting over Serious Rap Shiit.

I think Guru was excellent and is infact underrated. Was a huge part of Gang Starr making so much dope music and he actually founded Gang Starr and for all intents and purposes discovered Premo too.

And Guru has great songs that aren't Premo produced too. Guru was a great MC, lyrics, content, delivery, presence, he was extremely dope. Missed.
Who would fit with gurus style if premo wasn't there? What other producer could fill that slot?

:dahell: Gurus a legend sir. Check the Jazzmattaz series. When did guru get outshined by Lil Dap? Moment of truth is Gurus magnum opus but he got busy on all Gangastarr albums.
