Am I the only one who thought what Whitley Gilbert did to Byron was wrong as hell?

Probably the worst 'A Different World' moment ever, IMO

If I was Byron, I would have ran down the aisle and Goldberg-speared that four-eyed simp Dwayne before he even got to the "Baby, PLEEEEASE!! "

The entire relationship based aesthetic on a different world was unhealthy and based in punk simp-dom.

I stopped watching that shyt real talk, back in the day.
As there was no redeeming male characters on that show, ever.
Plus the best teacher was gay, with a fruit booty ass son, too.

Different world was cool in the first two seasons, pretty much.
The rest of that shyt was bullshyt after that.

I agree, Different World started off good but it's downfall was trying to be too preachy. In the last few seasons every show had a message and pretty soon a good show was being turned into a social political platform and the entertainment value was pretty non exsistant.

As far as what Whitley did...hell yeah she was wrong for that

Well season one had controversy to it.
As Lisa bonet was involved in the backlash and ostracized for her new draw.
So that season was a spinoff that hit a hitch in the road.
So it had to be put in a holding pattern.
Nonetheless, it was a good season because he show still drew and had quality moments for Lisa as a solo character and made the other characters an interesting draw.
To the point that,..it was able to continue on in her absence.
After that second season,..where everything was turned into Whitley and Duane Wayne.
It went down hill.
As, the show content's best actual foils and redeemable characters and relationships in the show were juliesa and sinbad.
Which were developed but should not have taken a backseat to Dwayne & Whitley.
Nor should Ron and free summers roommate should have been lovers or intimate either. As that while shyt was bullshyt to umpteenth power as well.
Imo, the matchup and pairings on that show were of lower quality than 90210 and early melrose place. Before the chick from tj hooker came on and ruined the dynamic of the show into ratchetness.
Before rarchetness was coined as a term.

This show which my friend bill cosby invented was beneficial for amongst many other reasons, it gave me a chance to gaze at jada pickett, who was so fine in early 90's.

That breakup was etherous, but it was needed; broke brothers in colleges needed to see broke ass dwayne triumph over a financial goliath-esque byron. Everyone needs hope in life, if only to keep from turning nihilistic
