Am I the only one who wonders why non black mothers complain about doing their biracial kids hair?

That use to get on my nerves. I remember the Jenny Jones show they would be on there acting like it was the hardest thing in the world

"We tried eggs, mayonnaise, even peanut butter nothing works!"

I use to be like um why not just ask a black person or take them to a black Salon if you really care? Your husband/boyfriend has no women in the family? Why not use detangler? Why not just relax it then(back in the day)?

I met some women like this and the stuff they have said about their daughters hair is just terrible

And some of the biggest complainers were women who have always dated black men. Like you been around black women all this time and never thought to understand our hair or learn something?

It's the texture. Although it's straight or loose and curly, it's not the texture they are used to dealing with. The hair is normally thicker and takes more time to detangle/brush and style. White women with thick and curly hair complain about this often.

I always feel bad for the kid because some of the white women have their kids looking a mess, its always dry and matted. Like I know there is someone from the dads side of the family that would help do the childs hair. I have seen a couple of frustrated white chicks in the black hair section of Walmart trying to find some miracle product to help them.

My mum actually knuckled down learnt to plait my hair and kept learning.

She would always ask about new products for my hair and did a great job with it.

I get the feeling white mum's are shocked by how different mixed hair needs to be treated. Also they can't get their heads around not washing it everyday and putting grease on it....
