Gotta go back and watch "Him" again.. Fell asleep when dude and Marlon were in the sauna and that crazy looking blonde haired chic came out of no where lol.. Didn't wake up until the end.. Julia Fox fell off since that Adam Sandler movie.. Didn't realize that was her until the ending credits.. I kept saying who is this ugly 'ass white chic, lookin like she was straight out of "White Chicks" lol.. Movie was all over the place smh.

I haven't seen Nope because it didn't look interesting to me. Us was ok, but it's not something I would go back and watch. Get Out is a classic.

I heard Jordan Peele talking about his "racial horror movie" that he'd been working on in his head for YEARS back on 2015 on a podcast. So Get Out was like a rappers dope debut album that he'd been working towards his whole life. The hunger was there and the writing was on point because it had to be on point if you wanted to make a splash.

Now he's has to follow up that dope debut album while only having a few months to record after going on tour. So you get patchy follow ups with one or two bangers and a lot of filler and weak attempts at a hit. We gotta remember that 99% of writers/directors are not capable of writing multiple original films that are critically acclaimed AND commercially successful. We know Ryan Coogler and Paul Thomas Anderson by name because most creatives in the industry are lucky to create one cult classic in their lifetime, let alone multiple bangers.

I really think Jordan would be better off trying to make comedies theater viable again. Horror is getting kind of oversaturated IMO. If he teamed back up with Keegan-Michael Key for a movie with the right script and co-stars, it could maybe make noise.

I get everything can't be a classic and I hate to tear a brotha down during these times , but Us was mid and Nope was legit a 6/10...

HIM is getting wild 3/10 scores and it didn't look good in trailers so I wasn't even that pressed to see it in the first place.


It might be time to pivot to a new genre or tone, all the greats have done it and coogler done it! Twice!!

If I watch this I'm watching only off the strength of Marlon Wayne's supposes acting MASTERCLASS (he out acted leto in requiem for a dream), I'm done expecting high level writing or anything groundbreaking.
