I don’t know if I agree that you have to an “intellectual” to have important opinions. That title is usually awarded to people who participate in the system as a pat on the head. I consider Malcolm X, in his hours of speeches I’ve listened to, to be BRILLIANT, but he was never awarded with that title because he refused to play the game.
The larger issue is we have INSINCERE people who push agendas in exchange for checks as the leading voices now. I’d listen to mush mouth Willie D before I check for anything CTG says, because as country as Willie D sounds, he speaks from the heart and in the interest of his people. He’s wrong sometimes, but never to intentionally mislead.
