What does Melo's contract have to do with his comments and the situation hes talking about ? Sounds like you just want to bring it up as an irrelevant footnote...

Contracts are always relevant when it comes to roster construction. Melo's having a bad year while being the highest paid guy on the roster. That's bad.

I thought he said he wasn't taught how to rebound. Either way. that's fukkin' terrible.

I thought he and Carmelo were like cool off the court as well. If that's the case, this is a low blow on STATs part.
This was back when Woody was running the Knicks

Coach Mike Woodson has repeatedly said he's not worried about Amar'e Stoudemire finding his offense after returning from a left knee injury. Woodson is more concerned about Stoudemire's defensive game -- and Stoudemire knows that's where he needs the most improvement.

In fact, STAT admitted after Wednesday's practice that defense is something he has never really learned -- until now, with Woodson as his head coach. While Woody was an assistant coach in New York for most of last season, Stoudemire had played mostly under Mike D'Antoni's offensive game plan during his career.

"I think just having a defensive coach for the first time in my career is going to help," he said. "I've never been taught defense in my whole career, so to now have a coach that actually teaches defense and teaches strategies, and knows positioning and posture, how to guard different plays, it's going to be helpful. I'm going to take it as a challenge, and I'm going to accept the challenge and try to improve as a player."

Who are the good teams in the league locking in max dollars to players over 30?

No one's arguing the Knicks roster is terrible. The trade for Melo and then doubling down on another contract is also part of the issue.
