Weather being nicer in NYC, there were like 4 of them spread out in a 2 block radius on 47th and Broadway in Times Square.

ughh i hate that shyt so much. can't even enjoy walking my dog while laughing at all the ratchets and tourists without someone trying sell me a fukking cd. i don't even go to venice any more...can't stand the combined smell of incense/piss/musty people and the dudes trying to sell bad music.

It's got real bad to where you can't even walk by muscle beach/the basketball courts. They either try to guilt some white people into buying it or they try to yell shyt out like 'you aint a hip hop then I guess!' lol

Yo I told a nikka on the boardwalk i'll throw him 4 bucks for his shyt cause the first song sounded dope, he said he was up and coming and had 21 hot tracks on it. when we played it in the whip it took me 5 songs to realize the whole tape was Gangsta Dresta from Real Muthafukkin G's:gladbron:

HAHAHAHAHAH are you for real?

No joke, sometimes I pretend like I am deaf just so they leave me the fukk alone. Im trying to get some cheap pizza and enjoy the sun lol

On Fulton Street in Brooklyn, you'd see similar sights of dudes trying to hand off their mixtapes to random passerbys, happened to me, kinda feel bad for these dudes :patrice:

Lets be honest, most of those dudes aren't going to have real success in rap, even if they're talented.

I mean at best they are making some money for alcohol or a meal but yeah, they really aren't getting anywhere going that route. Better off hustling on the Internet, really.

Ok, so how would you suggest someone introduce you 2 their music?

This is a real question.

the problem is, everybody and their mother is trying to become a rapper. rapping is not that difficult. any nikka with a pen and paper and half an imagination and fruity loops on their laptop can make a demo. good rappers get lost in the sea of average to horrible rappers out there and they get no play either. i guess the only way i would listen to a rapper is if i hear somebody blast his song all day over and over again and its hot. there is like half a billion rappers in the world now tho and its just like :whoa: take that shyt over there

I feel u but you didn't answer the question, unless your answer is that it's no way for a unknown rapper to present his music to you. I'm honestly asking because I'm an artist myself but I've never been the type 2 walk up somebody and beg them to listen. Now I wouldn't ask for money for a cd since I'm unknown but what if its free and a nikka just want some of your time by listening. And I know it's a lot of garbage in the way and good artist are far inbetween that's part of the reason that I don't try 2 shove my music down people throats.

When I was in Boston and NY I use to sell my CDs just cause i was always out in the city so much

Nowadays I wouldn't do

1. It's bad for business . . ME? Out there selling CDs? My name's a registered trademark

2. In California there's so many homeless people that we're conditioned to feel like street solicitations are just like panhandling

Begging people to listen to your shyt is a waste of time. If the shyt has legs then people are going to recommend it to each other, copy it for their peops, play it when you're not around, shyt like that. A million YT hits don't come from dude stalking a million people into peeping his shyt.

Aspiring rappers: force your shyt on lets say 100 people. If only three of em are feeling it then do the math. You suck. I suck. We all suck. The ones that are gonna go somewhere usually get put on fairly quickly, even if it's some local shyt at first.

A nikka walking the street selling cds in 2013 is essentially panhandling. Strongarming people and sending them home with a wack cd. It's almost better if they just jack you for the five bucks and not make you have to listen to their shyt on top of that.

Introduce people to your music by playing the shyt somehow so they can hear it. Their neck will do the rest. If you find yourself explaining a whole lot then you've failed.

I know it's a very uphill battle but if its meant to be for me it will definently happen, until then I'm just working on my craft and more creative ways 2 put myself out the right way.

My brother got the same mindset as you, it took two years of tryna shove Kendrick Lamar in his face before he gave him a chance and he only listened because he heard me keep listening to him from 2010 til 2012 and started bumping section 80 heavy and now the nikka probably his favorite.

This...the main reason why it's so hard for decent rappers with actual skill to blow is the people that are remarkably skill less.

I get annoyed with it after a while too but nothing is worse than in Vegas or Veince Beach when muhfukkas try to just toss head phones on you to listen to their tracks then ask for 10 bucks for the CD. If Im not paying 10 bucks for a Jay-z cd im not paying 10 bucks for a cd from a random.

yo I went to vegas and this shyt was ridiculous, like 20 nikkas would come out of no where at random moments wanting you to listen to their cd :beli:

having a failed singer as a family member must suck. Like I know deep down Kenny smith know his daughter ain't shyt, but he gotta support that ass till the wheels fall off

lol funny u say that, my little brother been trying to get me to listen to kendrick lamar since he got back from school. its not that im being stubborn its just that rap as a whole has become corny to me.
