It does the codec for the streaming format was introduced in the June update. Let me clarify that they are no streaming apps released for the system as of now. Expect after this fall update with Windows 10.

So its that new codec they are trying to develop for streaming 4k or was the xbox one fitted with the Hevc H/W to stream 4k?

All this is redundant if you have an xbox one. Xbox one will also have 4k capability very soon as well. Im think Netflix on Xbox One is already 4k capable.

But the fire box is only $99 plus you can add Kodi/Xbmc to it.... The Price alone puts it way above the xbox one...

Yep. The XBox One is only close to being a better deal if you already have one. If you're not in the market for one, there's no reason to pay that much more when the FireTV works so well.

Besides you already need a preexisting cable box to watch tv through the xbox one... with the fire TV/Kodi app you can stream live TV at NO EXTRA COST through wifi and HDMI...

No Play Store but it has games. I have a 20 hour KOTOR save on my Fire TV

You can play Snes/Genesis and PS1 roms on it, the FireTV shyt runs modified Android.
