the speakers/mic on the current dot are ass, any improvements is good

Mine works fine. Can shout at it and hear it across the room. The new echo dot has less mics.

sometimes i be in my bedroom and i'll say alexa do this/that and the Echo in my living room will hear me instead of the one closest to me in my bedroom

The first one to hear the trigger word responds and blocks the other. Might need to reset the bed room one with a power cycle.

you could also change the wake word so they don't get triggered at the same time

I got a Shield TV and it came with a free 3rd Gen Echo Dot. I’ll replace one of mine with this new one. Can’t decide if I’ll closet my other one or just sell it.
