Consider 100 years ago when most of the uneductated were farmers. Technology completely changed disrupted the farming worforce too. Society adapted. :yeshrug:

You're not accounting for the growth of the human population during this time frame.

Still to those of you denying this and wanting to push it back.. understand that the longer and more drawn out this process is, the longer people will suffer. They'll just keep kicking the can down the road hoping it becomes someone else's problem.

People crying about jobs still do not grasp the fundamental concepts of time, work, money and the very purpose of machines.

If you step back and observe humanity on a macro scale, you're realize they're REALLY fukkING STUPID, and this rings true for both ends of the spectrum; rich and the poor alike. Given the choice between instant gratification vs long term survival of our species and you'll see the rich and powerful choose the former every time as they believe their wealth makes them a few times removed from the negative effects of their actions... that is until it's no longer so.. the copping of pleas at that point however, will be glorious.

This is exactly a case of computers doing a better job. There is nothing for cashiers to do other than scan your food. They don't provide customer service. This isn't the DMV. It's scanning a barcode.

Man when I worked at wal mart in college those cute cashiera used to give me a ride home sometimes .Lol
