You would be shocked how often this old return scheme is used.

There's Telegram groups where ppl share information on which companies have certain return policies. For example you can return like $3000 in Nike products for a full refund

This has happened to me, although unintentionally. I ordered a beard comb next day delivery. The item never came so I cancelled the item. Amazon refunded the cost straight away, as I hadn't received the item. Then a few days later the comb came through

ya it happened to me with an apple router…they sent a replacement the next day…and the original item randomly showed up on my doorstep months later…“thanks” USPS

They always refund you after the shipment is processed. Soon as I take it to UPS store and it’s scanned to return, I get a refund processed email often the same day or at the latest the next day.
