I don't think that's something Google would ever do, at least at this point in time. Facebook doesn't allow exporting contacts to Google, despite Facebook growing largely because of importing Google contacts, they still list Facebook profiles in their search results.

This is really dumb.

This is the type of decision that snowballs and ruins a company. Not saying that will happen,obviously.


But anytime you take customers choice out of the equation to force your own produxt down their throat it never ends well. Somebody that wants a apple tv isnt going to buy a fire stick just because amazon doesnt sell it anymore,theyre just going to buy it from someone else.

This is the problem with this. Amazon has a bunch of bullshyt store brand products that directly compete with other brands, where do they stop with this? Why didn't they stop selling apple / android phones and accessories to push their phone

This doesn't compare to apple or anyone else because no ones paying for a service for the products those other places sell.

they stop selling Nest when they made a feature that allowed 3rd parties to develop devices similar to Nest

they stopped selling Fitbit, Jawbone UP and the Nike+ Fuelband when they released the Apple watch
