Amazon's humanoid warehouse robots will eventually cost only $3 per hour to operate. That won't calm workers' fears of being replaced

The only way these robots will matter is if AMAZON has low volume. Other than that. Amazon gonna be up shiits creek. Robots only got one speed. Can't make adjustments. cant/won't take "shortcuts".
They've tried this multiple times as a scare tactic for their employee base since the early 00s. It's worth noting that this article was posted two years ago during the employer desperation years post covid. And I recall that a bunch of them were trying to unionize too

Isn't funny how those robots were never instituted and there are tens of thousands of people still employed at Amazon doing manual labor? :pachaha:

Do you not understand how technology accelerates things as time goes on? This could easily happen in our lifetime just because it wasn't immediate like a sci-fi book doesn't mean it's just a scare tactic.

People who heard that and went off to study ai/robotics are in a much more comfortable position rn than the smooth-brained laborers clinging onto manual labor jobs that tear up their bodies

Future is looking very bleak for people with little education or no qualifications. If we thought the world was unequal we ain’t seen nothing yet.
This is most people. Realisitcally even if you have an engineering degree, what CAN you do without experience? Once these hit the streets you won't even be able to get the experience to compliment your degree. So the big thing here is experience, not education.

Get a skill brehs...robots can't do everything...

Packing boxes, and unloading crates....yeah they can do...lol anyone can do...
The "get a skill" advice is played out. It should be "get experience brehs". Only experience will save you (experience in something that cant get automated). Even if you have a skill, good luck getting hired in this economy with no experience.
