almost every female friend i have has confided in me that they'd been either raped or molested by a family member or stranger
and no i don't seek out this sort of information nor am I the gossipy chatty patty type
I guess I'm just easy to talk to and they know I won't run my mouth telling everybody their business

I'm sure there's some type of evolutionary psychology that could atleast give an explanation to why it's so common, unfortunately i don't have the energy to do such research

I often hear people respond like this whenever evolutionary psychology is brought up. And I completely understand why it happens (the reason you just gave) but what I don't understand is why someone wouldn't want to have a greater understanding of why these things occur.
I mean...things are going to happen regardless. Whether we perceive them as positive or negative. Rape, Murder, Suicide etc etc...... they're going to continue happen....even if we choose to not make any efforts to under why. No knowledge is gained from such a stance. Just a endless cycle of complaining and wondering why.
Understaning why something transpires isn't = rationalizing why something occurs.
But that's stating the obvious. Nothing is lost by having a greater understanding of something. If anything it puts us in a better position to fix a perceived problem
