The thing about this line of thinking, and it applies to any civilization, is at some point it has to be right. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you sit around waiting for it though you're going to drive yourself nuts. The media, mainstream and alternative, find new ways on a regular basis that they claim will end the world as we know it. Couldn't agree more about simplicity. Along with simplicity is being content, not in the sense of being stagnant and not trying to progress, but always being happy with what you have, while simplifying your everyday life and the tasks at hand while working to be better.
