My girl got a nephew that can't read shyt, not even sight words and he's 5. He refuses to learn too and he's literally the only one in his class that can't recognize any words other than brand names.
except it isnt. i follow our school system pretty closely because our state GOP wont stfu about it

generally the worse the schools performance, the poorer the area. my city is still quite segregated. those schools perfoming poorly is by design. im not saying there arent neglectful parents, its definitely a problem, but if you send a kid to a busted and broken school with no money and underpaid teachers who either struggle to help (or dont care about the kids), youre gonna get underperformance. its not the kids fault. sometimes parents fail kids but a lot of schools just do the bare minimum to stay open for a government pittance.
again, its by design. they constantly take money from schools. our medical marijuana industry was supposed to fix and fund our schools but our representatives are skimming it and spending that money on useless stupid culture war bullshyt like Trump bibles and charlie kirk gardens.

There’s no mention of “black culture”, liking sports, or hip-hop in this article, which many posters like to use as a scapegoat when they disparage black children’s academic performance.
You have posters on here who pretend that every child except black childrenare ready for Harvard which we know is far from the truth.
The issue is low standards, an over reliance on smartphones, and moving away from reading in general.
The reality is that america is done. We are now in the looting phase of a dying empire. Everything that isnt nailed down will be privatized, everything thats already privatized will go up in price. If things continue as they have been, the concept of a "public" school will be seen as a socialist fantasy and all schools will be charter schools that teach kids propaganda and have 'classes' that are literally just them being made to watch advertisements for 30 minutes and write about why they're good. Most decent news is being pay walled so the only shyt that isnt pay walled is riddled with advertising and pro-corporation, pro capitalist slop. Information will have a price, misinformation and propaganda will be free.
Black kids will suffer the most because of decades of economic warfare on black neighborhoods, but make no mistake, if you think the average white American is an infantile moron, the adults that were born in 2030 and later will have the critical thinking skills of a medieval peasant and the vocabulary of a 4 year old.

Dogg, so much is gonna change in a generation and people won't even have the knowledge, history, or wherewithal to know that there was something better in place at one time.
I don't know what kind of future kids will have in this country, but it will involve the commodification of human beings. The real kicker is human life will greatly be devalued with AI coming into position. Even if the MAGA system falls a part, it will take decades to get back to this point of progress. And this point of progress is shyt.
