I wouldnt get into these military campaigns either if some other dummy was willing to do it. These niccaz dont even try and use diplomacy, why should other countries be willing to wage wars to support american colonialism and capitalism? If you ask me too many countries help with our BS. What we need is a country who is willing to check us... hopefully China will do it. Im hoping for drone strikes on our military and government for those seen as terrorists or war criminals by other countries. We need that shyt, we need a united front against us so that we see we cant fight off everyone and thus must use other methods to get things accomplished. Maybe we stop spending so much on military and more on building a better society... i mean fukc, I feel like Im in the twilight zone when I imagine all the shyt that doesnt get done because we want to be able to wage two full fledged wars at the same time...

No, you're misunderstanding completely. That is not what I'm saying. There is the argument from other nations that the US is faster to use the military approach as opposed to diplomacy, which was certainly true of the last administration. But even when military actions are agreed upon. Europe always lets the US carry the brunt of the cost. That is what they get to have those social welfare programs and things of that sort. They don't spend as much money on the military because we are essentially their military via agreements. Given the fact that we both know this, they know that in the end, the US is going to flex and there's not much they can do about it because to some degree the US is doing what they are not willing to commit themselves to doing. They've abdicated the responsibility of making some of the harder decisions.

It's not about supporting US colonialism, and I don't even understand how you could begin to make that argument when we're talking about Europe as if these people are anti-colonialism. Everything else, you said was completely radical and borderline irrational. I just explained to you why that won't happen. The rest of the world sees it in their interests for the US to be the dominant military power. They may argue about our methods, but they also enjoy the privilege of not having to make those decisions. Furthermore, you honestly believe that just because military spending is cut that money will then be disbursed throughout society, that is just not the case. If anything, the fact that the US is not the dominant military power will encourage even more investment into new military technologies. You really think Obama would be pushing to cut military costs if we thought other nations could fukk with us...:childplease: Remember what era gave birth to the Cold War.

Finally, your visceral reaction is duly noted but it makes little sense if you care anything about human rights. China is arguably a much more egregious example of colonialism today than the United States and is one of the worst (much more than the US) violators of human rights.

Activist Post: Surprise! Drone Industry Report Says Drones are Great for the U.S. Economy

Sunday, March 17, 2013Surprise

The robotic warfare arms race has gone global, with unmanned aerial vehicles taking center stage. A new U.S. study by the Association For Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) shows why drone proliferation continues to ramp up at a nearly exponential rate: it has become one of the fastest growing areas of the U.S. economy. A report entitled, "The Economic Impact of Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration in the United States" is clear in its conclusion that competition for jobs and tax dollars created by drone tech development is likely to provide the impetus to loosen state regulations on drone use. The AUVSI is projecting 70,000 new jobs in the first three years of full integration.Naturally, as noted by Cenk Uygar in the video below, the AUVSI has a vested interest in promoting drone use despite the organization's "non-profit" status. From their About Us page they don't hide their goals and connections:

The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International is the world's largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to advancing the unmanned systems and robotics community. Serving more than 7,500 members from government organizations, industry and academia, AUVSI is committed to fostering, developing, and promoting unmanned systems and robotic technologies. AUVSI members support defense, civil and commercial sectors. (Read full mission statement and their goals for the world HERE

of course. why risk lives when you can use machines?

Im not comfortable with the idea of robot armies. humans have the option of disobeying immoral orders. robots don't. it's only a matter of time before some serious fukkery happens. imagine african warlords with drone armies. how about the mexican cartels.

not just flying drones either. soon enough there will be some terminator drones.

it's a glorified remote control plane. it's not something that takes crazy resources, like making weapons grade uranium

I'm sure we could make a nuclear powered drone that could stay up indefinitely
