This. And I'm pretty sure Edward Norton is the one who forced them to go with the theatrical ending that we got. Good move.

I'd have preferred Norton's character getting killed.

God, fukk this movie. I hate that I ever saw it. It's a neo-Nazi's wet dream masquerading as an anti-racism film.

Its pretty corny. I understand what they were trying to do, and I think its great that they were trying to deconstruct all that nonsense but I don't know who its aimed at.

Most intelligent people don't like being told by Hollywood that racism is wrong. We know. The movie would have been better served and arguably conveyed its message better by being more realistic.

And it just would have been unrelentingly depressing. The movie is already a downer of a film. It's a powerful film, but it's not a very pleasant experience. They were going for a Shakespearean vive, and every character already gets a sad ending. Having Ed Norton's character go back to being a skinhead would've been too much, I think. They already showed that the cycle of hatred and violence only begets more violence, and that you incur a debt to karma even if you change your life. I would've hated seeing Ed Norton go back to being a skinhead again, and I think it would kind of hurt the movie's message.
